Full course description
Grief makes us think about the unthinkable that turned into reality. It brings intense sorrow, pain, anguish, and yearning. It pushes us in different directions, testing our limits. We may not have a clear view about how life after the loss will be. There are days in which we feel like our world is crumbling down. Is that all grief has to offer? Although grief is typically perceived as an entirely dark experience, it has the capacity to ignite transformation, growth and expansion. Embracing the journey of grief involves being open to riding the waves of emotions, welcoming opportunities for connection and relief, adapting to a new way of living, making meaning out of loss, and accepting, loving, and supporting a new sense of self.
In The Hope of Grief webinar, participants will learn about the psychology and neuroscience of grief, the benefits of grieving, navigating the waves of grief with mindfulness and compassion, and gradually restoring a life with meaning. Grief can be a profound source of hope and one of our greatest teachers if we allow it to be.
This workshop will be facilitated by an Office of Employee Assistance (OEA) professional.
