Welcome to the Experiencing Mindful Awareness course filmed at Kampong Gardens in Miami Florida, a National Tropical Botanical Garden. Created by the instructional design team at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University in Miami Florida and taught by Frank Anderson MD MPH, a physician and teacher of mindfulness.
This course explains the 4 fundamentals of mindfulness and provides guided meditations for experiencing the results of the techniques. In a step by step way, learners will understand techniques of both how to practice mindfulness and how to put them into practice to realize a sense of calm and openheartedness and realize at a deeper level the opportunities live an authentically mindful life. Although the material is delivered through a health care provider context, anyone can easily follow the material, and recommend it to their own health care provider who could benefit.
The Kampong Gardens provide the perfect setting for this journey, with their serene and peaceful environment, surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful flora. Each fundamental is delivered in a different area of the garden, so notice the backgrounds as well as the material for a fuller experience. Whether you are new to mindfulness or have been practicing for a while, this series is designed to help you deepen your understanding of mindfulness and provide you with practical tools to incorporate it into your daily life.
