Full course description
FIU’s Nepotism Policy helps ensure that personal and family relationships do not create inappropriate influence, conflicts of interest, or concerns within the workplace. Designed primarily for FIU managers and supervisors, this self-paced course covers the types of relationships addressed by the policy, how direct and indirect lines of authority are evaluated, when disclosure is required, and how employees initiate the disclosure process in PantherSoft.
With an emphasis on managerial and supervisory responsibilities, the course explains what happens after a disclosure is submitted, including the related employee’s acknowledgement, supervisor review, and the roles of Employee & Labor Relations and other reviewers when applicable. Through practical examples and workplace scenarios, participants will learn to recognize potential concerns, respond appropriately to disclosures, and support FIU’s review process. While the course focuses on managers and supervisors, all FIU employees are welcome to enroll and benefit from the policy and disclosure guidance.
