The FIU Facilities Management Department is committed to providing quality, sustainable facilities, and diligent oversight and assistance in meeting safety standards of all aspects of the University’s physical environment. The Department is responsible for the maintenance of all doors, frames, exit devices, closers, handicap openers, and all related hardware for the entire campus. This includes Electronic locks and controlled access. This policy outlines and gives guidance on how FIU balances ease of access and convenience with the need for security, safety and accountability within FIU’s facilities.
