Having a strong set of overall laboratory safety rules is essential to avoiding disasters in the lab. FIU laboratories can contain significant risks, and the prevention of laboratory accidents requires great care and constant vigilance. This policy acknowledgement will assist the FIU Community (FIU faculty, staff and students) in being aware of laboratory safety standards at FIU, like the processes in order to become an "Authorized User".
