This online training serves as a resource to establish Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”) foundational knowledge. The privacy and security requirements relating to Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”) in student records maintained by Florida International University (“FIU”) are discussed.  This course includes topics such as FERPA basics, requirements for the protection of student records, access to student records, exceptions, and FIU Directory Information.
