Full course description
This micro-credential provides foundational knowledge and skills in data science and machine learning techniques. It is especially oriented to those interested in public policy and administration fields to apply the techniques for big data analysis in answering complex policy questions. It will benefit:
· Ph.D. students and faculty in public policy, public administration, public affairs, nonprofits, and other related policy oriented disciplines.
· Public policy practitioners interested in using data science for evidence based outcomes.
Taking the micro-credential would result in a digital badge entitled "Data Science for Public Policy." The badge earners would be able to commence their own data science and machine learning research projects, explore and learn more advanced data science and machine learning techniques, and design and prepare undergrad or graduate introductory machine learning courses in their area of policy interest.
The badge comprises of five modules (15 contact hours) and is offered entirely online.
