Saving a life isn’t only for professionals. YOU CAN take action, YOU CAN activate EMS, and YOU CAN be the first to provide vital care during a medical emergency!

This course is for anyone wishing to learn hands-only CPR, the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and learn the basics of bleed control. All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend!

You will learn key concepts in providing basic care to an unconscious individual, activating emergency medical services, setting up and using an AED on an individual, and managing significant bleeds from the body using various first aid and medical resources. You will see real life scenario videos that reinforce action steps and you will practice several rounds of compressions on manikins.

The skills you will learn can be applied anywhere you may encounter an unconscious or bleeding person. That’s right, whether it is at FIU, or home, or anywhere else, this course will prepare you to help someone in their most dire moment!
